The Upstate sees real seasonal swings — humid summers in the foothills, freeze-thaw cycles in winter, and heavy pollen every spring that turns siding green if it's not treated. We don't spray over old paint and hope. Every Palmetto exterior gets washed, scraped, sanded, caulked, and primed before the first coat of finish goes on. We use Sherwin-Williams Emerald and Duration on siding, premium oil-bond primers on bare wood, and acrylic enamels on trim and shutters. Two full coats, hand-brushed where the eye sees it. The result is a finish that stays sharp through five Upstate summers — not two.
